Welcome
to United Way of Central New York’s
2006 Campaign E-Newsletter. We begin this year with a five-week
tutorial series designed to give employee campaign coordinators
(ECCs) and their teams an overview of all the tips, tools, and
techniques that can help them run their best campaigns ever.
Welcome to our first session!
WEEK
1: Website Resources On-Demand
We’d like to introduce you to our newly redesigned website,
www.unitedway-cny.org. Here you’ll find a wealth of information
about United Way including how donor gifts are invested in our
community and profiles of remarkable people and organizations.
The answers to most questions about United Way are just a click
away—any time you need them.
You’ll
also find a section specifically dedicated to ECCs, the Campaign
Toolbox. In it, you’ll find our four new campaign
videos, downloadable pledge forms and posters, tips for how to
run a great campaign, a “shopping list” to order
any of our materials, and much more. We invite all our ECCs to
take a few minutes to look around—we built this toolbox
to make your job easier!
In the next four weeks, our tutorial series continues with:
Week 2: Touching the heart
You only get a few minutes to reach people,
Here’s what
you can do to make each minute of a campaign meeting count.
Week 3: The Leadership edge
Companies that learn the simple techniques
of running an effective Leadership Campaign can increase giving
by 20%
or more—and
often get stronger every year.
Week 4: That something extra
Whether it’s plate of cookies or a year of free food,
that little extra something makes the campaign more fun—and
asking for donations a lot easier.
Week 5: Wrapping it
up
When you get ready to close your campaign,
remember: you can’t
thank people too much, but you can make reporting results a lot
easier. We’ll show you ways to do both.
With your help, we’ll create an incredible
campaign this year. Thank you and stay tuned!
