As
excitement builds for Walk the Talk, so does the
creativity! Today we learned that Lockheed Martin
Vice President and
General Manager Carl Bannar has decided to have Lockheed
walk the talk in a huge way!
They
are assembling a relay team to bring the company’s
United Way campaign contribution from Liverpool,
and rewarding
employees
who participate by giving them the afternoon off.
Mr. Bannar will join the relay for the last leg of
the
journey and across the finish line.
Lockheed
expects to have large number of employees participate
on the relay team—as
well as a sizeable team to cheer them in here at
United Way.
A salute to Mr. Bannar and the employees at Lockheed
for this great show of commitment!
It’s not too late to register for this event,
but now is the time—please call Rosey
Oaks-Lee at United Way at 315-428-2210. For details on the
event and instructions for how to participate, visit
our website, www.unitedway.cny.org. We will be updating

Meet
United Way of Central New York’s
Campaign Council This
morning, while many of us were arriving at work—or
waiting in traffic—a team of local business leaders
met to focus on continuing the momentum of the 2006
United Way Community Campaign.
The all-volunteer Campaign Council
includes business leaders from a wide variety of
industries. The group
meets to develop and implement strategies to increase
workplace giving and awareness in the business community
about United Way of Central New York’s mission
and work. Members serve as United Way liaisons to
their business peers, working to establish new campaigns
and improve existing campaigns.
