Rick Simone is Business Representative of Sheetmetal Workers Local 58 at Carrier and serves on the Board of Directors of United Way. Over the past two weeks, he has actively recruited fellow leaders of Organized Labor to participate in Walk the Talk. Thanks in large part to his efforts, a number of unions will take part in this event.

The brothers and sisters of Organized Labor have had a longstanding relationship with United Way, contributing generously to the annual campaign and volunteering across the community. In a characteristic demonstration of solidarity, a group of union leaders will travel together from the offices of the CNY Labor Council to symbolically carry in the gifts of union members employed at many organizations.

Mr. Simone is a longtime member of the Central New York Labor Council and has served as Co-Chair of Carrier Corporation’s United Way campaign for many years.

“I have been actively involved in United Way campaigns here at Carrier nearly every year for about 12 years,” Mr. Simone said, “and I’m proud that Organized Labor has stepped up to walk the talk for this community. I believe that United Way offers the opportunity to give something back to the Central New York community and to make a positive difference in the quality of life here.”
