United Way’s Walk the Talk event is practically here—and if you haven’t registered yet, there isn’t much time left. If you plan to walk your talk, we need to hear from you as soon as possible!

It’s going to be an event to remember, and you don’t want to miss it. More than 40 local business leaders will be participating, and we expect a huge crowd here at United Way’s offices.

To register, please call Rosey Oaks-Lee at United Way at 315-428-2210. For details on the event and instructions for how to participate, visit our website, www.unitedway.cny.org. We will be updating the site daily, so please check back often.

Meet Nicholas J. Pirro, Onondaga County Executive.

Nicholas J. Pirro is Onondaga County Executive and a longtime United Way supporter. He has always shown great leadership in inspiring county employees to be generous to their community, and the county consistently runs an exemplary United Way campaign. Last year, county employees Kim Hunn and Linda Wilde were named United Way Employee Campaign Coordinator of the Year finalists.

Mr. Pirro said he’s glad to see so many business leaders showing commitment to their community. “I am proud to join with business executives all across Onondaga County as a show of our commitment to United Way, as well as the agencies that make such a valuable contribution to our quality of life here,” Mr. Pirro said.

Mr. Pirro will be traveling with Sheriff Kevin Walsh to United Way’s offices at 518 James Street. Sheriff Walsh will join Mr. Pirro for a symbolic show of security as Mr. Pirro delivers the county’s United Way campaign totals.
