 Eleven
non-profit human service agencies in Onondaga County recently
received Technology Grants through United Way of Central
New York’s Capacity Building Fund. Technology
grants are intended to help human service agencies increase
their capacity to serve clients or
improve their overall efficiency through technological
improvements.

 The Community
Initiative Fund supports innovative approaches to addressing
important human care issues in Onondaga County. This year, Initiative
Fund dollars are helping to address two key issue areas.

By 6 operates under United Way of Central New York to help
ensure that all children, by age 6, possess the necessary
mental, physical, social and emotional development to reach
their full potential.

companies with surplus material goods with organizations

 The
Family Literacy Alliance of Greater Syracuse is a collaboration
of individuals from more than 70 agencies who conduct family
literacy services in the Syracuse area. FLAGS’ collaborative
approach has resulted in a broad expansion of literacy staff
training
sessions and workshops.
