Gifts-In-Kind Program
What
is a gift in kind? Donation of material goods or professional
services are called a “gift in kind”.
These contributions are very valuable to non-profits,
helping them stretch their budgets and better serve their
clients. They are also beneficial to the companies that
make these gifts, allowing them to put excess inventory
and used equipment to work helping the community. Many
businesses also provide the gift of services ranging
from technical assistance to pro-bono advertising for
non-profits. Last year, the value of local in-kind gifts
exceeded $250,000!
United Way of Central New York’s Gifts-In-Kind
service is our community’s in-kind connection center.
We are the regional partner of Gifts In Kind International,
a non-profit organization that works with leading charitable
organizations, including United Ways, in communities
around the globe to link charities to in-kind donations
from a wide variety of sources.
