Meet
Margaret. Like many seniors, Margaret began to have trouble
taking care of the home she’s lived in for years.
She needed help, not just for big projects, but also
for the small chores that she had once done herself with
ease. And finding someone who she could trust to help
her with these tasks was yet another challenge.
Now meet Keith, a handyman with
Catholic Charities’ Project
Fix program. He’s a man with a full set of tools,
plenty of know-how, and a warm smile. Keith spends
his days fixing light switches and leaky faucets, installing
grab-bars in bathrooms, and scores of other repairs
that help seniors stay in the homes they cherish. “I
love this job because every day is different,” Keith
says. “I like the people that I meet and I try
to brighten their days while I’m there.”
To senior citizens like Margaret,
Keith is a godsend. “It
means so much to be able to call someone I know when
I need help. Keith does a great job and he’s a
very nice fellow to have around. I honestly don’t
know what I’d do without him.”
