United Way was created as a way for the whole community to come together to make Onondaga County a better place to live. That simple principle is still at work today.

United Way has always been led by volunteers from across the community, individuals who generously give us their time and talent. Today, we have hundreds of volunteers who govern the organization, decide where to invest donor gifts, raise money, time, and in-kind resources, and extend our capacity in countless ways. We thank them for their continued support and leadership.
